First of all, an apology to those of you who attempted to catch our show at Momo's on 12-8. For some reason, the old guard of Austin decided to mount the fiercest resistance the Czars have seen yet. Our appearance on KUT's Eklektikos was rescheduled and then an error with Momo's booking wound up canceling the show there for the evening. We will have to bury these insurgents at a later date.

HOWEVER, our appearance on KVRX 91.7 FM went swimmingly. We surprised even ourselves that night with an impromptu performance of the brand new song (well it's new to us) "Forty Bucks/Indie Rock Gurus" to end the show. We felt so good about it that we've added it to the set for the Room 710 show on 12/10. The radio performance and an interview were also captured on video to be aired on UTTV at a later date.

The show at Room 710 was also a blast as usual. It was nice to see so many familiar faces.

There will be very little Czar related acts of conquest until February:

Our cheating bassist Adam K. will be playing bass with the 70s cover band Summer Breeze on January 8th at Emo's for the Tattoo Art Revival Convention.

Our no good guitarist Josh R. will be playing bass with noise mutilators Black Cock at the Red Eyed Fly on January 7th. An excellent San Marcos band called heldunderwater will also be on the bill.

Another 2 months have past without a web site update?!?! We've been so busy playing shows that we haven't had time to keep our web site updated properly.

We were quite excited to share 2 bills with Philadelphia instrumental rock extra ordinaires Stinking Lizaveta. We played with them and Yeti at the Wreck Room in Ft. Worth on 10/25 to a modest crowd. We were glad to see a few familiar faces from our last visit to Cowtown. We played with Stinking Lizaveta again the next night at Room 710 in Austin. We were quite surprised at the turn out because Emo's hosted yet another huge blowout show across the street. We shared the bill that night with Sand Bar, Bahrain and Transfixr.

Stinking Lizaveta played for about 2 hours as daylight savings time added an hour to our evening. What a night.

We experienced what was possibly the lamest Halloween costume party ever at Klub Amnesia in San Antonio. The sound was the worst any of us have ever experienced, the audience was dead, the bartender was charging the bands $3 for water and we were the only ones in costumes. Despite the extreme boredom that ensued after we played, Mike from MT Productions was cool to us so we must at least acknowledge that one positive point.

After that we played a fantastic show to a cool group of people at Trophy's in Austin with some really good bands on 11/7. The mind-boggling math-rockery of Suburban Terror Project was the main course. After a long night of death metal and hardcore, these guys still blew everyone out of the water with their skills. They are truly fine musicians. Hit by a Car followed us and they were excellent. These guys were somewhere between Victims Family and Metallica. Their drummer's helmet/cymbal stand was the most.

Despite our skepticism regarding San Antonio, we had a great time at Sam's Burger Joint on 11/12. We were warmly welcomed and quite surprised to hear our own demo being played in the house jukebox. We didn't know if the audience was reserved or bored until the finished playing "Mursketine" and they erupted. We'll be returning sometime in January.

Our T-shirts are also done and available for $10 at shows along with our 5-song EP. The gentlemen at Bearded Lady printed them and they look snazzy. Sizes range from XL down to M with YLs for the ladies. Colors available include white... and that's it for now. Zach Hall's design features a new custom drawn bird carrying the weapons of the Czars.

Check out the music page for new LIVE MP3s of "Fuse", "The Fanfare of the Imbeciles" and our covers of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" and the Eastern European traditional song "Jarba Mare Jarba". All four are from the 710 show on 10/26. Adam recorded them with his spiffy binaural mics instead of going direct into the soundboard and it turned out quite clean for a "bootleg" style recording.

"Fuse" is the newest addition to our regular set. If you'd like to get more background information about the lyrics, visit www.mikeandlindsay.com.
Beginning in January, we'll be adding heavier and funkier material to our set lists. We hope you'll enjoy it.

Don't miss us LIVE on Austin radio in December. We'll be on KVRX 91.7 FM's LOCA L LIVE on Sunday 12/7 at 10 PM. Listen from anywhere online at www.kvrx.org. In January we'll be playing on KUT 90.5 FM's Eklektikos. Listen from anywhere online at www.kut.org.
