We'll play several of the old favorites as well as few new surprises.

CREATION OF C.A.R.P. - In order to form a more perfect untion, we have joined our fellow weirdos Bee Vs. Moth, Muppletone and Opposite Day in an official capacity to collectively form C.A.R.P - the Center for Art Rock Policy. Look for an 8-song compilation out in July featuring alternate and unreleased tracks from each group. C.A.R.P. will also host WED nights at Austin's Carousel Lounge beginning July 6 and last through the summer. These CARP nights will feature a different combination of avante-garde bands each week. Interested bands should email us.

NEW PRESS REVIEWS - While we're not sure of what to make of the Statesman's recent mention of us in their Melt Banana show review, we did score well with Reloaded (formerly known as The Red River Rank and Revue) for our opening performance with NOMEANSNO. See our Press Page.

ALBUM ALMOST DONE - We may finally be able to close the book on definitive recordings of all your live Czars favorites. Our album is set for tentative release in late July on Above Suspicion Records under the title Gods of Convenience. Check out some early mixes on our MUSIC PAGE.

HUGE MELT BANANA SHOW IS THE LAST FOR A BIT - We ended a long string of succesful shows and busy weekends on 5/28 at Emo's in front of our biggest audience to date. We'll finish up the new album (tentatively entitled Gods of Convenience) and finalize a number of new tunes for debut later this summer.

MIDWESTERN TOUR - We will tour the midwest from 8/6-8/20. Keep an eye on our SHOWS page for locations. If you're a band that would like to play with us in your town, please email us.

GOODBYE TO THE CHURCH OF THE FRIENDLY GHOST - This weekend will mark the final show at Austin's Church of the Friendly Ghost. We'd like to acknowledge proprietor Aaron Mace for playing host to so many performances that didn't have proper outlets in Austin, including some of our own.

PROBLEM WITH NUTCRACKER CDs - It's come to our attention that the most recent batch of Nutcracker CDs are flawed: track 8 is NOT the Waltz of the Flowers, it's just the last few moments of track 7 repeated over and over followed by silence. Jeepers! If you have purchased one of these disks, please email us to arrange an exchange: invincibleczars @ yahoo.com.

THANKS TO NOMEANSNO - We had an incredible time with the best band in the world last weekend. We'd like to say thanks to NoMeansNo for adding us to both of their Texas tour dates and wish them well on their trip home. We had a lot of fun hanging out with the NMN crew and played to the biggest audiences of our career thus far. Josh even managed to spill salsa over John Wright. You just don't get that opportunity every day...

LAUNCHPAD STUDIO NOW OPEN FOR BUSINESS - Our good friend Chico Jones has joined forces with an ex-proprietor of the Pawn Shop Recording Studio and finally opened his own full service recording facility. They've even got 2" tape! Visit their new web site here.

IT should be out by late July. We have not made a final decision on label/distribution at this time. Yes, it will sound way better than previous efforts.

3 - The Invincible Czars turned 3 sometime in April. It was also Adam's 2 year anniversary as bassist. We look forward to making spooky rock for many more years to come.

ATTACK THE BACKROOM ON THURS - For those in Austin, don't miss our show at one of Austin's oldest music venues and best sounding facilities. If you don't it might our first and last time to play there... zoinks!

OPENING FOR NOMEANSNO IN FT WORTH April 24 We will open for NOMEANSNO on Sunday 4/24 at the Wreck Room in Ft. Worth, TX. Not to be missed!! NoMeansNo is Josh's favorite band EVER. We're debating covering a NoMeansNo song for the occasion, but it must be one that they will most likely not play. Email suggestions here.

WEEKLY BEERLAND SHOW ENDS, MONTHLY BASIS BEGINS - We've thoroughly enjoyed playing every Thursday at Beerland for the last month. Over that time we debuted plenty of new material: Adam's Bush administration country rant "Choosing Sides", a refined version of "Gods of Convenience", a polka cover of Iron Maiden's "Run to the Hills", Primus' "Here Come the Bastards". We also brought back our "Ghost Town" with The Specials' "Ghost Town" in the middle, our polka version of Metallica's "Blackened" and new arrangement of the Klezmer traditional "A Glezle Vayn". Tonight we will debut a cover of Mastodon's "Blood and Thunder", Nick Cave's "Up Jump the Devil" and re-visit our old medley of movie theme songs from way back in the days of the Doctor.

SPEAKING OF OTHER PEOPLE'S MUSIC - Email requests for songs you'd like to hear us play. Even better, email us charts of your songs and we'll play them.

BACK TO THE STUDIO... WHICH MEMBER WILL QUIT/BE KILLED THIS TIME? - It's time for what seems to have become an annual Spring ritual -> we're headed back to the studio to attempt to make a real, final, definitive studio recording of the songs you've heard us play for the last 2.85 years. It will be engineered by our very own Rick Redman.
